UK's crackdown on Occupy LSX, Oakland, Iran +

Protests about failed banks and bankers in the financial system have spread throughout the West. A while ago the occupy London camp on the steps of St. Paul's cathedral led to collateral damage which removed two leading clerics of the cathedral, the dean, Graeme Knowles and his canon, Giles Fraser. The campers were protesting about the obscene profits and serial catastrophes perpetrated by London's financial hub. "There is another obscenity and that is the completely democratic governance of the city and the rich bankers and traders there in. It is the dark heart of Britain where democracy goes to die or rather it has never actually been given birth. Its symbol is the Corporation of London which is seeking to evict protesters," George Galloway says. The corporation has its own police force. They have red and white checkers on their hats and helmets rather than the black and white ones of the metropolitan police. Meanwhile, there have been protests against capitalism in Oakland, California, where a general strike has effectively shut down the city's port and many central areas. On Wednesday the police raided in, using tear gas and flash bang grenades in an attempt to quell anti-wall street protesters.
