Protesters vs police & tear gas in Cairo - News crew tear-gassed in Egypt

Clashes continued into the night on Thursday between Egyptian security forces and protesters in central Cairo.They were protesting against the security forces' failure to prevent a soccer riot that killed more than 70 people in Port Said on Wednesday.


The protesters pushed their way toward the barricaded Interior Ministry building near Tahrir Square, and hurled stones at police, who responded with tear gas. Many protesters were treated for the effects of tear gas. Source

A crew from RT's Arabic-language channel Rusiya al-Yaum got under fire from tear gas in Egyptian capital during clashes between protesters and police on Thursday night.
Mass unrest erupted in Egypt after Wednesday's fatal stampede at a football match in Port Said. Many Egyptians accuse the military authorities of deliberately provoking the violence to create instability and prevent a peaceful transfer of power. Source
