'Fascist Israeli Nakba law denies common human empathy' + Video: Palestinians clash with IDF on Nakba day

For Palestinians, May 15 marks the date their ancestors were displaced during the creation of Israel. "When you recognise the suffering of the other side, you bridge the gap." "Have empathy for the suffering of the victim's victim."

Palestinians on Tuesday marked their mass displacement three generations ago with mixed emotions. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled or were forced from their villages during the war that established the Jewish state in 1948, an event they commemorate every year as their "Nakba," or catastrophe. Clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli troops erupted outside Ofer prison on the West Bank. Tear gas canisters and water cannon were deployed against protesters throwing stones. Source
