Most Icelanders oppose joining the European Union

By EUOBSERVER: Most Icelanders are opposed to joining the EU. A fresh opinion poll published Monday by Capacent Gallup said 57.6% are against membership while 27.3% support it. The rest is 'undecided'. Only the Social Democratic Alliance (Samfylkingin) which heads the current coalition government in Iceland has a majority of yes-voters. Source
