American Legal Reform: Special Rapety Rape Edition

Misandry: Typhon Blue - Verb Interview

Typhon Blue: This is audio recording of the interview I did with Saskatoon's Verb magazine. Adam Hawbodlt was very fair, in my opinion, and allowed me to speak my piece. Since then the magazine has apparently gotten negative feedback alleging that my point of view is "vile" and that they expect Verb magazine to demolish it in a follow up.

MonSatan: Monsanto’s SmartStax maize ‘to be approved for growth in October’ in EU

RT: Controversial genetically modified super-maize from Monsanto is set to be approved for cultivation across the European Union by late October, officials tell RT.
Despite EU regulators last month thwarting the expansion of the world’s largest seed corporation, it appears Germany won’t escape new GMO crops.
A spokesman for EU health and consumer policy commissioner, Toni Borg, told RT that “the approval of SmartStax maize is expected in September or October.”
The commissioner’s office also told Germany’s Zeit Online that the approval for the maize seeds would come after a “rigorous, scientific evaluation process.”
SmartStax GM maize was developed in the US by Monsanto and Dow AgroSciences. It combines the genes of two already genetically modified maize varieties. SmartStax is resistant to two types of herbicides and poisons against six different species of insects, such as the European corn borer. The seed includes eight artificially added genes – previously, the biggest number of such genes added to a single plant was three.

Reports of intel chief leading ‘independent’ NSA surveillance review denied by Obama the baby bomber

By Madison Ruppert: The Obama administration is now denying the reports stating that Director of National Intelligence James Clapper will lead the “independent” review of the National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance programs.

This choice was heavily criticized, which is hardly surprising given that Clapper lied under oath. Indeed, he himself admitted that he made “clearly erroneous” statements before the Senate.
However, the Obama administration is now stating that Clapper won’t actually be part of the group.
The review, part of Obama’s attempt to engender more trust in the government’s programs, will consist of yet-to-be-revealed members, according to the administration.
“Director Clapper will not be a part of the group, and is not leading or directing the group’s efforts,” Caitlin Hayden, a White House spokeswoman, said to The Hill.
“The White House is selecting the members of the Review Group, consulting appropriately with the Intelligence Community,” Hayden said, without specifying how they will be consulting with the intelligence community.
Shawn Turner, a spokesman for director of national intelligence, similarly stated that the review group will “not be under direction of or led by” Clapper.
However, in Obama’s presidential memorandum issued to Clapper yesterday, he wrote, “I am directing you to establish a Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies (Review Group).”

GLOBAL BANKSTER LOOTING: How an EU regulation can become a law without MEP involvement + The new EU bailin law was hurried through alright…but the template was premeditated

EC process and Brussels Mole confirm that a legal mechanism exists to fleece all of us in the event of a euro bank collapse
rehnexceptThe exceptionally unexceptional Olli Rehn
The Slog: In this follow-up to the weekend’s bailin process adoption posts, The Slog fills in the remaining pieces of the jigsaw. You may think you are a member of a Democratic European Union. You are not. There are many easy ways to hide from the EU Parliament: bundling a Delegated Regulation Supplement into a larger package (eg, on banking union); or the meeting of an EC committee followed by “no response” from MEPs are just two…the RRM is another. All have the force of Law. Follow the timeline, observe the press statements, read the speeches….and make your own minds up.
Let me at the outset pay tribute to two folks here. First, my longstanding Brussels mole who has gone more than the extra mile here to point me in the right direction; and the indefatigable Anna Raccoon (great post today by the way) mistress of the art of deconstructing obfuscation.
There is certainly no call at all for any tribute to the EU’s own press officers and bureaucrats.

Is the Gold Market Manipulated? + ‘There’s a huge run on physical gold right now.’

By Jeff Thomas: “Is the gold market manipulated?” This is one of those extremely dodgy questions that has left both investors and economists very divided.
Doug Casey has offered an answer to the question, by saying,
“Many gold bugs (but not all, because I too am a gold bug) seem to think that a coterie of malefactors of great wealth sit around a huge boardroom table, perhaps chaired by Dr. Evil cradling his white cat, and send forth their minions, ‘Da Boyz,’ to ‘smack down’ the depressed and struggling gold and silver markets. A large number of gold bugs are also conspiracy bugs.”
I heartily agree with Doug in the way that he presents his point of view. Many gold bugs do imagine that a formal conspiracy exists to control the price of gold. Here is a conversation I had with an American associate not long ago, regarding this belief:
JT: How do you see the manipulation of gold?  What do you think is happening?
KR: It’s pretty obvious to me that you couldn’t have such wild downward fluctuations if the market weren’t manipulated. No one seller has the power to make such fluctuations. Collusion has to exist.
JT: Who do you see as being the culprits?
KR: The banks… and the government.

Why Are We At War in Yemen? - Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity

Ronpaul TstRon Paul: Most Americans are probably unaware that over the past two weeks the US has launched at least eight drone attacks in Yemen, in which dozens have been killed. It is the largest US escalation of attacks on Yemen in more than a decade. The US claims that everyone killed was a “suspected militant,” but Yemeni citizens have for a long time been outraged over the number of civilians killed in such strikes. The media has reported that of all those killed in these recent US strikes, only one of the dead was on the terrorist “most wanted” listThis significant escalation of US attacks on Yemen coincides with Yemeni President Hadi’s meeting with President Obama in Washington earlier this month. Hadi was installed into power with the help of the US government after a 2011 coup against its long-time ruler, President Saleh. It is in his interest to have the US behind him, as his popularity is very low in Yemen and he faces the constant threat of another coup.
In Washington, President Obama praised the cooperation of President Hadi in fighting the Yemen-based al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. This was just before the US Administration announced that a huge unspecified threat was forcing the closure of nearly two dozen embassies in the area, including in Yemen. According to the Administration, the embassy closings were prompted by an NSA-intercepted conference call at which some 20 al-Qaeda leaders discussed attacking the West. Many remain skeptical about this dramatic claim, which was made just as some in Congress were urging greater scrutiny of NSA domestic spying programs.

We Are Legion: Anonymous’ Presence in the U.S. Military

By Michael Krieger: Are we going to see more leaks?
Yes. A lot [of Anonymous members] are mid- to high-rank NCOs. They are well-respected, have connections, and overly large security clearances. A lot of people who are part of the [Anonymous] culture are just dying at this point for something to come across their table that isn’t already out there. It is so easy to leak information that if you want to, you can do it.
- From Buzzfeed’s recent article Anonymous’ Secret Presence In The U.S. Army
It was only after watching the excellent documentary We Are Legion: The Story of Anonymous, that I really understood the history of the decentralized hacktivist collective. It was also where I first learned of Barrett Brown and his groundbreaking investigative journalism into the murky world of defense contractors such as Booz Allen Hamilton.
People’s opinion’s on “Anonymous” are varied and often confused, which makes sense considering it is more of a collection of ideas, rather than a top down organization with a specific and well defined platform. However, no matter what you think of it, there is no doubting the movement’s political influence. An influence that now extends deep into the bowels of the military-industrial complex.

Cristina Fernandez wants you to have an erection

By Makarska, Croatia - This one is too ridiculous to not pass along.
I’ve long written that desperate governments try to ‘control’ everything as they slide into insolvency.
They impose capital controls, exchange controls, wage and price controls, gun controls, border controls, and more.
But the government of Argentina has really taken this to another level.
Their latest stunt? Manufacturing Viagra at a state-owned pharmaceuticals company… and giving it out for free to the people.
Bear in mind, Argentina has tried everything else in the playbook. Cristina Fernandez, the current president, has forced people to hold the rapidly depreciating Argentine peso and restricted people from buying foreign currency or gold.
Argentina's President Fernandez de Kirchner gestures during a ceremony in Buenos AiresShe has jailed economists and central bankers who don’t do her bidding.
She has told bold-faced lies about economic data. She has hired thugs to roam the streets and beat up political opposition groups.
She has imposed price controls at grocery stores, seized private pension funds, nationalized foreign companies’ assets, taken control of the local media.
She has managed to accumulate tens of millions of dollars in wealth despite having spent a lifetime in politics.
She has launched a nationwide biometric tracking program, and police will have mobile finger print scanners to grab people’s prints at routine traffic stops.

London officials call on company to stop using trashcans that track smartphones of nearby pedestrians

By Madison Ruppert: City of London officials have told a company to stop their trial of street-side trashcans that track the smartphones of nearby pedestrians and are capable of building a detailed profile of where the smartphone has been in the past.

The technology used sounds a great deal like the systems used to track people in and around retail stores in the United States, a practice which is coming under increased scrutiny as of late. At least the trashcans aren’t using facial recognition, like some mannequins are, right?
The trashcans were part of a program developed by Renew, which involved the distribution of 12 devices featuring LCD advertising screens and technology capable of tracking the unique hardware identifier of every smartphone with Wi-Fi capabilities nearby.
The action from the officials took place after Big Brother Watch raised concerns about the privacy implications following an August 8 report detailing the technology in Quartz.
Renew chief executive Kaveh Memari told the BBC that their machines only recorded “extremely limited, encrypted, aggregated and anonymized data” in order to monitor local foot traffic, similar to the way websites monitor digital traffic.
Memari said that they took the issue to the Information Commissioner’s Office but have “stopped all trials in the meantime.”
