Chinese Web Search Giant Baidu Now Accepts Bitcoin

By Michael Krieger: As I have maintained on many occasions, reports of the death of Bitcoin have been greatly exaggerated. If anything, the news related to the most popular crypto-currency ever has only gotten considerably more positive in the wake of the raid on Silk Road. The most recent development is that massive web services site Baidu, Inc. has started to accept Bitcoin for its Jiasule service. I wonder if this is in any way related to the recent Chinese calls for a new reserve currency, as I can’t imagine the company would go ahead with accepting BTC without at least some “all clear” from authorities. If this signals implicit approval for Bitcoin by political leaders in China (it’s too early to tell), it would have paradigm-shifting global consequences.
Here’s the BTC chart. You make your own judgement:

How to spot a liar and honesty, a value worth preserving - Pamela Meyer

TED: On any given day we're lied to from 10 to 200 times, and the clues to detect those lie can be subtle and counter-intuitive. Pamela Meyer, author of Liespotting, shows the manners and "hotspots" used by those trained to recognize deception and she argues honesty is a value worth preserving.

ECB’s Draghi: Knowing Too Much About Our Big Banks Could Set Off A Panic

By Wolf Richter: European banks, like all banks, have long been hermetically sealed black boxes. If someone managed to pry open just one tiny corner, the reek of asset putrefaction that billowed out was so strong that the corner would immediately be resealed. In cases where the corner didn’t get resealed fast enough and too much of the reek spread, the whole bank collapsed, only to be bailed out by taxpayers, often in other countries; it’s easier that way.
The only thing known about the holes in the balance sheets of these black boxes, left behind by assets that have quietly decomposed, is that they’re deep. But no one knows how deep. And no one is allowed to know – not until Eurocrats decide who is going to pay for bailing out these banks. How do we know? ECB President Mario Draghi said that on Friday in Washington.
And today, the Eurogroup of 17 finance minister had a huddle in Luxembourg to try to decide that issue.
The IMF, which can only sniff around the surface of the banks, determined that the Spanish and Italian banks alone would have to recognize an additional €230 billion ($310 billion) in losses over the next two years. As we have seen time and again, bank losses are always much larger when the truth finally seeps out, and that doesn’t happen until after the bank collapses and someone from the outside counts what’s left over.

Orwellian Misandrist US Government: Time to punish the innocent + The absurdity of creep shaming + BIG CAKES - AUDEMAR

By There has been a disturbing twist to the controversy surrounding the Department of Justice’s agreement with the University of Montana — known as the “Blueprint Letter.” The university’s president, Royce Engstrom, denied last Friday he had any knowledge of the requirement that the school must provide a list of faculty and students who did not attend special training classes on sexual harassment.
If Engstom did not know, it is not because the government did not make it threateningly clear.
The resolution reads like the formation of a target list:

[T]he University will provide [the United States Government with] the date and duration of each student training session required by this Agreement; … and a list of any students who have yet to participate in the online or in-person training required by Section VIII.D.
The agreement has been criticized, and rightly so, for its broadening (yet again) of the definition for sexual harassment and its unmistakable contempt for due process.  The agreement includes provisions for punishment even if no wrong doing has been demonstrated.
You heard that right. The United States government wants to insist that innocent people face punishment by university officials, many of whom have blatant ideological agendas that are hostile to men.

The apartheid Israeli regime revises children’s arrest tactics, but violations continue – UNICEF

RT: The Israeli regime is introducing reforms to how it arrests Palestinian children in the West Bank, the UN Children's Fund said. The move comes amid international criticism after revelations of widespread mistreatment of detained Palestinian children.
United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) said in a statement that apartheid Israel was “taking steps” to address some of the problems outlined in a report released by the organization back in March. The report revealed that the Palestinian children detained by the Israeli militia in the West Bank were systematically mistreated
Seven months after the report was released reports of violations are ongoing, reports UNICEF, despite the 38 recommendations issued along with the report that would help to bring the treatment of children in line with international standards.
But, UNICEF noted that the Israeli regime had moved forward on the issue and is currently testing some of the newly reformed measures. The first measure deals with Israeli shock troops (IDF) issuing summons for children instead of making night arrests at home, “which can be traumatic for children and their siblings,” UNICEF said.
The other measure piloted has reduced the time a child can be detained before appearing in front of a military court for the first time. The new order reduces the time from four days to 24 hours for children aged 12-13, and from four to two days for children aged 14-15. There is no change for children aged 16-17,”

News Is Now Designed To Paralyse Us With Fear

Morris: Whether the news is real or fake or orchestrated - the importance of it is that we live in fear. Even if the USA defaulted - in all likelihood our lives will continue as they are - and the showdown of the US government is most likely orchestrated from behind. Regarding the major hoaxes we have seen, I am now thinking we are ignoring the minor ones. Source

22 Reasons To Be Concerned About The U.S. Economy As They Head Into The Holiday Season "..poverty has been absolutely exploding."

By Michael Snyder: Are we (U.S.) on the verge of another major economic downturn?  In recent weeks, most of the focus has been on our politicians in Washington, but there are lots of other reasons to be deeply alarmed about the economy as well.  Economic confidence is down, retail sales figures are disappointing, job cuts are up, and American consumers are deeply struggling.  Even if our politicians do everything right, there would still be a significant chance that we could be heading into tough economic times in the coming months.  Our economy has been in decline for a very long time, and that decline appears to be accelerating.  There aren't enough jobs, the quality of our jobs continues to decline, our economic infrastructure is being systematically gutted, and poverty has been absolutely exploding.
