Dr Coutinho, The Radical Feminists And The Male Contraceptive Pill

Aldir Gracindo: CLARIFYING, since it's surprising how people can't interprete the vid: This video doesn't imply that feminists kept the male BC pill from getting to the market. IT JUST SHOWS:
1) THE NARRATIVE OF ONE WELL KNOWN SCIENTIST WHO CREATED ONE OF THE VERSIONS OF A MBCP AND HIS MEETING WITH A GROUP OF FEMINISTS LEADED BY BETTY FRIEDAN IN A PUBLIC MEETING, AND IMPLIES THAT BETTY FRIEDAN WAS NOT A "MODERATED FEMINIST" (well, in case you still have the dellusion that feminists fighting the "Patriarchy" are "moderated, egalitarian, equity" feminists instead of simply anti-men feminists).
2) DR. COUTINHO ALSO SUMMARIZES WHY IT IS TECHNICALLY SO DIFFICULT TO PRODUCE A BIRTH CONTROL PILL FOR MEN, IN COMPARISON TO THE WOMEN'S BC PILL.

3) HOW GOSSYPOL WORKS, AND DEFENDS HIS DISCOVERY, BASED ON STUDIES. THIS VIDEO DOESN'T PROVE THAT THE OTHERS STUDIES SHOWING THAT GOSSYPOL DOES HAVE SIDE EFFECTS WRONG.

Dr. Elsimar Coutinho is a Brazilian physicist, endocrinologist and human reproduction scientist.

In this interview he also tells how and why feminists, leaded by Betty Friedan, boycotted his male birth control pill presentation, in a World Population Congress.

Some people came to comment that I didn't mention the controversy on the use of gossypol, because they didn't read the description.

As an example, I found a critical article on Gossypol here:
http://malecontraceptives.org/methods..., but there are others.

Dr. Elsimar Coutinho is a well known specialist in human reproduction and birth control, and became also known for his controversial advocacy of menstruation suspension.

  1. Is there any independent corroboration that the incident has ever happened? Dr. Coutinho made the statement much later, when Betty Friedan was already dead and could not confirm or deny it. But it was a presentation, not a private exchange. If it did happen, there must be witnesses.

Also, it seems strange that Betty Friedan would go to the trouble of organizing a protest yet not leave a published trail of her opinion.
