Teresa Watson, 50, Jailed For Only Eight Months After False Sexual Assault Claim

BBC: A woman who falsely accused her former work colleague of sexually assaulting her has been jailed for eight months.
Teresa Watson, 50, of Sandhaven, worked with Martin Canavan at a WH Smith newsagents in Aberdeen International Airport.
She was earlier found guilty of making a false accusation of sexual assault and wasting police time after a trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
After being sentenced, Watson said: "That's ridiculous."

Investigation praised

Sheriff Richard McFarlane said the impact of such an allegation on Mr Canavan's life was "probably incalculable".
Sheriff McFarlane praised the "competent and responsible" work of PC Rafael Alcaraz in the case for making sure that justice was done.
Defence agent Mike Allan said: "She accepts that she was found guilty.
"But in her head she does not believe she committed this offence."
