A Breakup Letter To Feminism

By : When people make this kind of public declaration, such as Salon’s article about why the author left the GOP (here), many people respond by doubting if they were “truly” whatever they claimed to be formerly. To me this is similar to the No True Scotsman fallacy, saying that No True X could just give up being X to be something else. I think a lot of this has to do with the way humans are socially wired to create in-group preferences and out-group biases. When someone leaves our group for the out-group, we often look at them with incredulity, suspicious that they were a false friend or a spy for the other group all along. History is littered with examples of this, as is literature, but I won’t bore you with examples.
But the truth is, people are more complicated than that. And with politics, I value truth and rationality above any concerns about loyalty to a particular brand or group of people. Loyalty, in my personal experience, is too often used to silence the truth or to attack people for telling it.
There is no amount of real evidence that would satisfy people who would respond to this by doubting if I was ever a “true” feminist. They’d say “well she never castrated anyone,” “she never went topless in protest,” “she never pulled a scroll dripping with menstrual blood from her vagina to engage in a nude artistic protest,” therefore “she was never a TRUE feminist.”
But basically, I was just a liberal, and feminism was just another way of saying I rejected bigotry. I bought into the idea that feminist just meant gender egalitarian, and I believed that any decent person should believe in equality between the sexes in terms of political power. I thought that women needed better representation in sexist media, which is reflected by some of my earlier articles on hubpages.

A Lighter Look At Life And Some Upsides Of Being MGTOW

Wikipedia Editors Leaving: “I thought we were building an encyclopedia”

Via AVfM, Editor's Note: We know that feminism and it's underlying gynocentrism predate Marx, but it should be telling how people from former totalitarian regimes like comedian Veemonro instantly recognize totalitarian ideology in so much of what is calledfeminism and equality these days.

We are also relieved to see that we’re not the only ones who’ve come to recognize that Wikipedia has become deeply corrupted by bullying, intolerant ideologues who hide behind the mask of anonymity and whom most of the public don’t even know about.
Update: Bonus video on changes going on in the Wikipedia hivemind:

Family Separation Sends Parents To Early Grave

The heartbreak of family separation is sending absent parents to an early grave, figures show.
By Caroline Wheeler: The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) data shows that parents who leave their children are almost three times more likely to die early.
It was unearthed by Sunday Express staff who compared the number of Child Support Agency (CSA) cases closed after “nonresident” parents died with cases closed due to the death of the “parent with care”.
The figures show that since June 2003, 8,515 non-resident parents have died compared to 3,090 residents.
According to the information released under the Freedom of Information Act, 94.8 per cent of CSA cases involved a male nonresident parent.
Despite a specific request, no causes of death were given.
Information on mental illness among non-resident parents was also unavailable.
Matt O’Connor, founder of Fathers 4 Justice, described the figures as “alarming”.
He said: “The department has a responsibility to conduct some meaningful research to understand what is actually behind these figures.
“It is not enough to say we don’t know why they are this way; commission the research and get to the truth.

Russia's "Startling" Proposal To Europe: Dump The US, Join The Eurasian Economic Union

Slowly but surely Europe is figuring out that as a result of the western economic and financial blockade of Russia, it is Europe itself that is suffering the most. And while Germany was first to acknowledge this late in 2014 when its economy swooned and is now on the verge of a recession, now others are catching on. Case in point: the former head of the European Commission, and Italy’s former Prime Minister, Romano Prodi who told Messaggero newspaper that the "weaker Russian economy is extremely unprofitable for Italy."

Apartheid War Criminals JSIL Freeze Palestinian Tax Funds Over International Criminal Court Move + JSIL Zio-Nazi Regime Diverts $18mn From Death Squad Budget To Aid Land Theft

A top Palestinian official has condemned JSIL's (Israel) freeze of Palestinian tax revenues as illegal and tantamount to theft.
Press TV: Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Mustafa Barghouthi said Sunday that Tel Aviv’s decision to withhold tens of millions of dollars worth of Palestinian tax money is in fact an act of piracy.
“What Israel is doing is theft, piracy and illegal," Barghouthi said, adding, “Tel Aviv has no right to withhold money paid by the sweat and blood of the Palestinian people.”
Barghouthi said Israel must face sanctions and be boycotted over its outrageous violations.
He also called on the Palestinian authorities to stop all sorts of security coordination with Israel.
On Saturday, top Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat similarly condemned the Israeli move, saying Tel Aviv cannot divert Palestinians from moving toward freedom and independence through economic pressure.
Israel on Friday halted the transfer of taxes it collects on behalf of Palestinians in retaliation for their application to join the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The Tel Aviv regime made the decision after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas signed the documents required for Palestine to join 20 international organizations, including the ICC.

11 Predictions Of Economic Disaster In 2015 From Top Experts All Over The Globe

Will 2015 be a year of financial crashes, economic chaos and the start of the next great worldwide depression?
By Michael Snyder: Over the past couple of years, we have all watched as global financial bubbles have gotten larger and larger.  Despite predictions that they could burst at any time, they have just continued to expand.  But just like we witnessed in 2001 and 2008, all financial bubbles come to an end at some point, and when they do implode the pain can be extreme.  Personally, I am entirely convinced that the financial markets are more primed for a financial collapse now than they have been at any other time since the last crisis happened nearly seven years ago.  And I am certainly not alone.  At this point, the warning cries have become a deafening roar as a whole host of prominent voices have stepped forward to sound the alarm.  The following are 11 predictions of economic disaster in 2015 from top experts all over the globe…
#1 Bill Fleckenstein: They are trying to make the stock market go up and drag the economy along with it. It’s not going to work. There’s going to be a big accident. When people realize that it’s all a charade, the dollar will tank, the stock market will tank, and hopefully bond markets will tank. Gold will rally in that period of time because it’s done what it’s done because people have assumed complete infallibility on the part of the central bankers.”

On Nerds And “Entitlement”: An Open Letter To The Two Scotts

By As you may or may not have heard, in early December 2014, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) took the rather startling step of stripping famed and esteemed physicist Walter Lewin of his Professor Emeritus status and removing his online lectures and courses from its web site because he had been accused of sexual harassment.
In response to this murky sexual harassment scandal involving a retired professor, Scott Aaronson penned a blog post. In his post, he expressed a desire that MIT not penalize the thousands of online students who depend on that professor’s uploaded lectures by pulling them down (perfectly reasonable), as well as some dissatisfaction as to the lack of transparency regarding what had actually transpired that was bad enough to see MIT strip a noted professor of his emeritus status.
This is not an unreasonable request. Sexual harassment policies in universities and colleges are consistently vague as to what behaviors are in violation and where the line is between interacting with women and expulsion. Many such policies rely heavily words like “unwanted” or “unwelcome“:

The definition of sexual harassment may differ slightly among educational institutions. The types of behavior constituting sexual harassment may vary in degree of severity. Its
definition always has one key element — the behavior is uninvited, unwanted, and unwelcome.
