The Cheap Date: When Are Women A Cheap Date?

In general, women think men don't mind paying....Guess again. When men were asked, they said they did mind. - Women Vs. Women: The Uncivil Business War, Tara Roth Madden
Is this prostitution?
By Rod Van Mechelen: 1992 Bellevue, Wash. - By definition, only a man may be a cheap date. This is because women sell what men must buy: sexual companionship. By definition, that is prostitution. That it is dressed up as romance or sold by pop feminists as "fun" for women (Women and Love: A Cultural Revolution in Progress, St. Martin's Press mass market edition, 1989, Shere Hite, p 481) makes no difference. Prostitution is the selling of sexual companionship, and women do it all the time.

This is hard on most men, who must choose between celibate frugality and spendthrift sensuality. The average date, which might include dinner, dancing or a movie, can easily cost between $50 and $100. As the average fellow earns $21,376 per year (Statistical Abstract of the United States, 1991, 111th edition, page 417, table 680.), this means he must spend between 12 and 25 percent of his weekly gross income just to get a woman to go out with him.
If we can believe television and newspaper reports, a professional prostitute may be hired for the cost of dating an amateur. Whether they do it for dollars or dates, money, it seems, matters to most women.
There are many lists enumerating what women look for in men, and "makes lots of money" is seldom near the top. That's because just as most men ignore the sexuality of women over fifty, so most women ignore the sexuality of men who, either for financial or personal reasons, are unable to pay the cover fee necessary to get their attention. Thus, to qualify as a man in the sexual scene, men must have either money or macho.
This means every woman who selects her dates on the basis of how much a man can spend, rather than on how much she likes him as a person, is a prostitute. And if she doesn't "deliver" (have sex with him), then she is the cheap date.
The Hypocrisy 2012 Olympia, Wash. - It should be obvious that it was my intention neither to call all women prostitutes, nor to claim that dating is a form of prostitution. My point was the hypocrisy of the feminists who claim, on the one hand to be victimized by men, tradition, the evil woman-hating male hegemony of feminist myth, while on the other expecting men to pay for their company because, as Shere Hite wrote, it's "fun."
Generally, I don't care what the hypocrites think or how they try to spin what I've written. But I'm involved in an organization that controls budgets. The feminazis in this organization, whom I call "the sisterhood and their male familiars," are attacking anybody who stands between them and control of this money.
Their goal is to set up programs they control that will benefit fewer than 10 percent of our constituents, mostly the people running the programs. And I'm one of the people standing in their way, so, among other things, they're parading this chapter around, taking it out of the context of everything I've written, to claim that I hate women.
The irony is that several of the women who are doing this, are women I very actvely helped to promote into their current positions. Were I the kind of person to hate women, I'd take that as reason to refuse to help any women in the future. But that would be irrational. Just as the sisterhood and their male familiars are irrational. Irrational, and motivated by money, power, attention and prestige to abuse their positions at the expense of our constituents.
Regards
Rod Van Mechelen
