Now, it would surely be silly to assert that women are incapable of reason at all as it can easily be observed that women perform reasonable acts all the time. For example, a woman would be incapable of tying her shoes without the application of reason. But beyond the basics, we also witness women in the sciences using reason. Indeed, it seems that women's irrational tendencies manifest most prominently in social engagements; more specifically, but not limited to, romantic relationships.
Let us see if we can construct an account for the role that reason plays in the life of a woman.
Women are hedonistic by nature. Therefore, women desire to minimize pain and maximize pleasure. Can it be said that to delay gratification is painful while not delaying gratification is pleasurable? Indeed this can be said. Therefore it would follow that a woman would wish her desires fulfilled sooner rather than later in order to minimize pain. Now, can it be said that there are two ways people can fulfil their desires; namely, efficiently and inefficiently? Surely it can.
Can it also be said that when a desire is fulfilled efficiently then it will be fulfilled sooner and when it is fulfilled inefficiently it will be fulfilled later? This too is true.
From this it follows that a woman will maximize efficiency in order to have her desires fulfilled sooner.
Now, if a doctor desires to heal a patient, can he do so with his skill alone, or will he need medicines as well? Surely he will need medicine as well. If a carpenter desires to build a table, can he do so with his skill alone, or will he need a hammer and saw as well? Surely he will need the hammer and saw as well. So in this way, to achieve what one desires one will require both the skill and the tools associate with the skill to fulfil the desire.
Is it true that a high quality tool will yield better efficiency than a low quality tool? Indeed it is. So from this it follows that someone who wishes to achieve the highest level of efficiency will use the highest quality tools at their disposal.
Now, will an apprentice carpenter achieve the same efficiency as a master carpenter if they are both using the highest quality tools? Surely not. The master carpenter will achieve higher efficiency than the apprentice. From this it follows that the level of efficiency achieved is also dependent on the skill of the craftsman.
Now, will an apprentice carpenter achieve the same efficiency with the highest quality tools as an apprentice carpenter with low quality tools? Surely not. The apprentice carpenter with the highest quality tools will achieve better efficiency than one with low quality tools. From this it follows that two people with the same skill level will achieve efficiency in proportion to the quality of their tools.
Now, is it true that an apprentice carpenter, with practice, will slowly improve his skill to journeyman and then later to master? It is. Is it also the case that a master carpenter who neglects his work will eventually retard his skill down to a journeyman and then to apprentice levels? This too is true. So from this it follows that a skill that is practiced improves while one that is neglected degenerates.
Okay. Let us try to put this all together.
A woman is born with both the tool of reason and the tool of her sexuality, namely her body. Her skills in using these tools will be the same at the beginning. Let us say that she is both an apprentice at using reason and an apprentice at using her sexuality. Now, do we not say that a woman is most desirable when she is young? Indeed we do. So it follows that the tool of her sexuality, her body, is of the highest quality when she is young. In other words, she begins as an apprentice of her sexuality and has the highest quality tools.
